A pleasing brown shade with pre-formed loops the Guideline Dry & Stealth leaders are supplied in a 2-pack. The packaging features a zip and is UV proof for easy and safe storage. We’ve drawn on years of experience to bring you the cutting edge in leader design. It’s no secret longer leaders give you an edge when presenting to spooky fish and where improved control is required. The Dry/Stealth leaders are designed to be lengthened, by adding tippet lengths to suit the conditions. Ideally, a thinner diameter of tippet section should be added, but a similar diameter also works fine. These leaders are designed to be lengthened; the tip is only 50cm (1,5 ft) long. We suggest you add your desired length of tippet to the tip. Dry & Stealth leaders will effortlessly turn over tippets up to 2 meters (7 ft) of length. We highly recommend adding our 2mm tippet ring to the tippet sections for a degree of flexibility and convenience. This allows you to purpose build tippet lengths as require. The taper is divided by Butt – 44% (165 cm / 5.4 ft), Taper – 42% (150 cm / 4.9 ft), Tip – 14% (50 cm / 1.6 ft). The butt section measures 0,57 mm (0.022 in) to provide positive turnover . This thicker butt excels where breezy conditions are encountered or when you demand a straight or true turnover.A typical scenario here would be presenting nymphs or dry flies on lakes/stillwaters where immediate and direct contact with your flies is needed. There’s also value on rivers where heavy nymphs, or large, air resistant dry flies are the order of the day. If you’re familiar with our 12ft Power Strike Trout, this leader is almost identical. The only alterations, is a more refined tapered section, resulting in better performance than its predecessor.
Example of customizing with 3X/4X Leader
Where a 18–20+ feet leader is required, try this favourite recipe among the trout bums on the Guideline team! Add 50 cm of 4X and a tippet of 5X (100–200 cm). If you prefer a 6X tippet, add 50 cm of 4X + 50 cm of 5X, followed by a 6X tippet (100–200 cm). The tippet length can be adjusted depending on the conditions. A good standard length is approx 150 cm. Where more complex currents occur, try extending the leader to approx 200cm. Such a long tippet generates sufficient slack for improved drag-free delivery.Top Quality Materials – Advanced Technology
