Guideline Support

For a flyfishing brand like Guideline, our business activities and pure existence rest on a close relationship with healthy fish stocks, clean nature and pure waters. It's not an easy task, challenges arise due to our size as a brand, making it challenging to convince traditional ways of working. And as always, we can do a lot in our end but not everything.

So therefor we support a set of nonprofit and political independent organisations who work to keep undeveloped running water streams alive, ensure viable fish stocks, brokering commercial conservation agreements and restore viable, self-reproducing populations. We are proud to call them friends in the pursuit of a better world. 

North Atlantic Salmon Fund

The North Atlantic Salmon Fund non-profit was founded in Iceland 1989 to support the work of Icelandic businessman and conservationist, Orri Vigfusson. An avid angler who came of age fly fishing on the banks of remote Icelandic rivers, he is credited with saving the wild North Atlantic salmon from extinction. His strategy of brokering commercial conservation agreements aimed at preserving this endangered fish, while simultaneously compensating fishermen and transitioning them to more sustainable fisheries, has saved over 10 million North Atlantic salmon since 1991.

Redd Villaksen

Redd Villaksen is an ideal foundation that works to ensure viable fish stocks in all Norwegian salmon and sea trout waters. The board works unpaid on an ideal basis. A special feature of Reddvillaksen.no is that we provide direct financial support for a number of important and concrete measures, often in cooperation with other organizations such as Norwegian Lakseelver and NJFF. Our main source of income is the annual auction based on generous gifts from river owners, tourist companies, shops, individuals and equipment wholesalers from all over the country.

Baltic Salmon Fund

"No one can do everything, but everyone can do something." Our vision is to restore viable, self-reproducing populations in the original salmon and trout rivers of the Baltic Sea. Strong populations create attractive sport fishing and provide opportunities for jobs through the development of fishing tourism. The Baltic Sea's salmon and trout populations must be free from environmental toxins and, with positive population growth, can eventually also allow for sustainable small-scale commercial fishing."

Älvräddarna

Älvräddarna, The River Savers Association is a nonprofit, and political independent organisation, working to keep the undeveloped running water streams alive, and to stop them being regulated for hydropower. At the same time we are intensively working to restore existing regulated waters with fish ways, and also to restore a healthy ecological balance in them. Guideline supports Älvräddarna as a Gold Sponsor.

American Saltwater Guides Association

Members of the American Saltwater Guides Association include guides, fishing-related small businesses, and conservation-minded everyday anglers who find greater value in having access to abundant fish stocks rather than simply maximizing harvest. We work to promote resource-first, science-based management strategies that ensure the long-term sustainability of our nation’s marine fisheries.
