Next door to Morrison’s shop stood J.A.J. Munro, a tackle and sportswear business he also owned, setting the perfect stage for innovation.
Together, they transformed the classic Thunder & Lightning by adding a long, flowing hair wing—a subtle change that proved irresistible to Atlantic salmon. The original Munro Killer featured a striking yellow and black wing, a deep black body, and vibrant orange and blue throat accents. This bold yet balanced design quickly earned its reputation as one of the most effective patterns for salmon fishing, and its legacy continues to inspire anglers worldwide.
