In natural colors - i.e. olive, brown and shades of grey, the fly is superb from spring until the cold, the shrimp chase towards deeper water in late autumn. When the cold has fixed its grip and the shrimp no longer stay in shallow water, a Leoshrimp is still a super attractor fly in orange and pink varieties.
Usually we use various feathers and guard hairs from fur in our flies to give the illusion of these shrimp legs. Using jewelery thread on shrimp imitations is genius and the man behind this idea is the Dane Kern Leo Lund. The jewelery thread is transparent, takes color well so that you can make speckled bones and the material is almost indestructible. And – the most important of all; they fish very well.
