The body consists of balsa wood that both floats well and is durable. It takes some practice to get the right shape for the fly and many fly tyers choose to buy the fly instead of making it yourself. Our edition can also be used as a model for those who want to create it themselves, it's simply outstanding craftmanship. The fly can be fished with and without movement.
The shape of the body and the fact that it rides deep in the water film help out to put a proper "trace" in the water - just like the real caddis pupas.
