Heptagenia Sulphurea is a widespread mayfly and is primarily found in rivers and streams with a slightly fast current. It normally hatches from midsummer onwards. But this varies in relation to where you are, as this insect is widespread throughout Europe. The size of the real ones is 10-14mm and we think hook 12 is absolutely perfect for this imitation.
Floatant tip:
* Tail, body and hackle can be impregnated with normal gel floatant.
* The wing of cdc should have CDC friendly floatant, so we reccommend using this on entire fly. TMC Dry Magic or any of the High'n Dry floatants is good.
* After a fish, rinse the fly in water, dry with amodou and use TMC Dry Shake to revitalize the fly.
