A light and slim variant of a Surf Candy imitating a Sand Eel, this fly is designed by Magnus Karlsson (Sweden) in cooperation with skillfull coastal fishermen at Öland.
Polenflugan is an all-rounder that catch seatrout year along. The Sand Eels normally comes along the shore when temperature is warmer than 5c. The retreive should be long and with smooth movements, 3-4 drags then a break before you continue. The higher the temperature, faster the retreive.
The Seatrout can be quite selecive on this kind of baitfish and is used to the Sand Eels trying to escape. The Seatrout must strike hard and fast to catch the Sand Eels and this is also reflected in the takes you get fishing this kind of flies. Prepare for savage takes!
