Leader Wax is a natural, non-pigmented wax created for fly fishers who want maximum floating power without adding color. It grips leaders and tippets to provide extra buoyancy, keeping them riding higher for longer drifts and better presentations. On the river a well floating leader moves naturally with the current.

This product is also a necessity for lake fisherman, imagine you are targeting trout at shallow water, you cast out your dry and wait for the trout. In the meantime, the leader sinks and when you pull up to a new cast the fly dives and get snagged in a log or grass under the surface.

Scenario two, you are fishing caddis patterns, skating them on the surface like the real ones, adding wax to the tapered leader and tip of your line and this fishing goes a lot easier and more effectively. A well floating leader also means that your fly sits lighter on the surface and floats better too.

Packaged in a convenient lip-balm style tube, it is easy to apply streamside and designed for anglers who demand more float from their setup. Put the line between your thumb and the wax, apply and your fingers to smooth out the wax over the desired area. You can also add this to the tip of your line if have started to sink. NB! Sinking line tips are normally because of a damaged loop or that the tapered leader is soaked with water and pulls it down.
