Guideline Braided Backing is a nice dense backing made of polyester with colors that will not come off. 20lbs strength is normal for all types of trout fishing and line weights up to #7. For heavier coastal fishing and salmon and seatrout #8 to #10 30lbs is the normal type. 50lbs is for the biggest salmon with line weights #10-12 and tough tropical fishing for tarpon, GT and other big, fast saltwater spieces.
