Biot Dun Medium Olive is an excellent imitation of various species of Baetidae and several other species that have an olive color. Hooks 14 and 16 are typical for early summer fishing when Baetis Rhodani hatch. Krok 18 is a fly for late summer and autumn with the second generation Rhodani and other smaller species within the Baetis family. The fly here is a slightly slimmer version than our standard Baetis Medium Olive, the abdomen is made of goose biot which provides great segmentation for picky fish.
Floatant tip:
Use CDC friendly floatant, all products from High N Dry work well and Tiemco Dry Magic. If you use Gel, you should be sparse on the wing. After a fish, rinse the fly in water, dry with amadou and use the TMC Dry Shake brush to revitalize the fly's wing and hackle.
