This fly in size 14/16 is a quite normal colour for the Baetis Rhodani/Large Dark Olive. Size 16-18 can also be a good, darker version of BWO's and 2nd generation of Rhodani for fall fishing. Colour varies a lot on mayflies, it's highly recommended to have different colours in same sizes to be prepared if you’re fishing on unfamiliar places.
Floatant Tip:
* You can use regular silicone floatant on tails, body and hackle.
* The wing should have CDC friendly flotatant if needed, we recommend to use Tiemco Dry Magic or our CDC Gel on the entire fly.
* After a fish, rinse fly in water, dry with amodou and use dry shake to revitalize the fly. Then add floatant like above to restore color. For wings like this and any cdc fibers we think CDC Dry Shake brush is the best.
