Medium Fast / Fast RecoveryThe new materials and carbon layup create extremely “light tip rods” that gives us the possibility to extend the rod while maintaining the fast acceleration throughout the casting stroke. The lighter blank also reduces fatigue to the wrist and feels like a 9ft when you cast. All in all, same properties as the 9ft length but with greater reach. This is the reason for making our 5-6-7 weight rods in 9’3” length. The extra 3”/7,5cm length adds extra margin between the water and rod tip. This brings better line control when casting, especially when you are wading. We strongly mean that these 9’3” rods aren’t any more affected by wind than regular 9’ rods. Forcing a rod through the wind is more of an issue when rods reach lengths of 10’ and over and become more tip heavy.
The 8-10-12wt rods are kept at 9ft in order to fight the larger fish these are made for and to keep down the pressure on the wrist with these heavier lines. These rods are also more targeted towards the tropical angler that often fish from a boat and doesn’t need the extra reach. Compared with our previous saltwater models the LPX Coastal rods are lighter, crisper, livelier and feature a slightly deeper curve. This makes them easier to cast and more tolerant to raw force or excessive wrist movement which we often use “accidentally” while trying to achieve the longest casts.

The Guideline LPX Coastal fly rods break tradition with a 9'3" length for the lighter models. These longer rods offer enhanced reach and control, especially when you are wading and float tube fishing, and minimizes the risk of hitting the water with your fly during the back cast. Thanks to the CAP M4.0 Technology, the 9'3" rods are still as crisp, fast and responsive as a traditional 9’, even with the added length.

The advanced carbon layup in these rods features C.A.P M4.0™ Technology (Complex Axial Pattern) paired with a unidirectional carbon fiber structure for maximum strength and stability in all directions, as well as low weight.
To lower the weight further, LPX Coastal is equipped with lightweight titanium stripping guides. For a firm and comfortable grip, we use Super grade cork, which also provides sublime aesthetics to the rod. The matte gray, custom-designed reel seats are hard anodized with blue colored highlights for a pleasant look.
Eco features
The LPX Series is a result of years spent on research and sourcing to achieve a greener flyrod, from both the components to the production. We have significally reduced the amount of dangerous chemicals. For example by using low VOC epoxies for assembly and rod coating. The rods are made using our GL ECO-Tech™ production technique where we avoid grinding the blanks, which normally produces harmful dust at the production facility. It also gives you the structured surface finish on the rod, with added strength as a result.
The stripping guides are made out of titanium, and for the single leg guides, we use a gun smoke powder coat finish on a stainless frame instead of chrome plating, to get rid of lead.
The rod tubes have a lower diameter and are made with PP (Polypropylene) and recycled polyester tube fabric. The same fabric is used as well for the rod bag.
